Introducing the new member of your family early to the grooming process is very important in building a positive association with the grooming environment and helps make their life-long visits to the groomers an enjoyable experience.
Puppy introductions are available once your puppy is fully vaccinated.
I recommend a free 15 minute ‘familiarisation’ visit where your pup will be allowed to explore the grooming salon and take in all the smells and sounds before being introduced to grooming itself.
On their second visit I will begin to introduce them to the grooming process and will work at their pace to bathe them using a puppy shampoo, gently dry them and start familiarising them with the sights and sounds of the scissors and clippers. To ensure they leave The Woofle House having had a positive experience, I will work within the parameters that they find comfortable and will not force them to experience more than they are able to cope with. Each puppy will be different!

Hand stripping is a traditional method of coat care and is suited to the wire-coated breeds like Border Terriers, and to the silky-coated gun dogs like Spaniels. Hand stripping is not always straightforward for us as groomers, or for you to know the right time, or suitability of your dog for this method, it can be a lengthy process during which the dog must be physically able to stand on the table, or comfortable enough to lie down for the groom. Factors including whether your dog is neutered will affect the quality of the coat and its suitability for hand stripping, we will discuss this during your consultation.
